As promised, I share with you my voicing for the Cantorum Duo. A few small observations: this is not a voicing like Physis, so don't expect timbre changes. The Chorum/Cantorum line is "locked" for samples, and the voicing parameters don't allow timbre changes. What I performed was a small adjustment of some parameters, especially the release detune, where in some stops it was not very present and in others too much. I tried to get the most realism out of each stop, but unfortunately the attack isn't adjustable, so in some stops it was just too short in the treble (example: Gedeckt 8 Baroque) making it sound more like hitting a piece of wood, rather than the puff of a pipe. This observation leads to the conclusion that Release detune and Footage Shifting are parameters that must be adjusted without altering too much the balance between initial (fixed) attack and release. So in the stops where these parameters have been modified, you will often find small changes from the original values, but they are significant to obtain greater realism. Just to say that it is useless to play too much with these parameters; some good improvements can be obtained, but going too far from the initial parameters for a few stops worsens the realism.
Before proceeding with voicing, read the voicing document, which contains all the instructions on how to access the voicing and how to interpret the voicing menu. The document is probably not revised, because for example it still indicates only 6 types of celeste curves, while today 12 are available. Even the memorization procedure suggests that it is not possible to save the voicing directly on the internal memory, while it is possible. To save the voicing parameters, without inserting any usb pen, simply press the "S" piston when you are still inside the voicing menu. A waiting message will appear, and then disappear after a few seconds WITHOUT any confirmation of voicing saved; however the voicing will be correctly saved. If you turn off the organ before saving the new parameters, they will be lost. The new saved parameters, on the other hand, will become definitive and there will be no possibility to restore the factory parameters with a reset. Then write down all the original parameters of each stop of each style on paper (each style, BAR, BRK, ROM, SYM, has its own specific set of samples which allows for individual adjustments), BEFORE making any changes, so that if want to return to the factory configuration you can manually re-enter the original parameters and save them again.

vielen herzlichen Dank für das Teilen Ihrer Erkenntnisse und den Ergebnissen Ihrer wertvollen Arbeit! Ich hatte an einem freien Abend mal mit den einzelnen Parametern herumexperimentiert und ebenfalls festgestellt, dass die Zusammenhänge sehr komplex sind. Da meine Cantorum grad viel im Einsatz und teilweise auch ausgelagert ist, habe ich alle weiteren Arbeiten daher erst mal auf nach Weihnachten verschoben. Ihre hier zur Verfügung gestellten Daten verleiten mich aber schon dazu, diese möglichst schnell einzuarbeiten, vor allem, da die Cantorum am 4. Advent bei einem kleinen Konzert zum Einsatz kommen soll . . .
Einen klitze-kleinen Beitrag zu dieser Arbeit kann ich aber vielleicht auch leisten: In der angehängten Tabelle habe ich - natürlich ohne Gewähr - die vorgefundene Werkseinstellung notiert.
Dear Flauten, Thanks for sharing the original factory parameters. They can be useful if you want to go back in the changes. I personally would never go back to the factory configuration, but some users might want to, so all the information you share is always useful for everyone!

Keine Ursache - im Vergleich zu Ihrer Arbeit ist das ja gar nichts . . . Ich wollte mir die Viscount-Parameter ganz einfach mal durch sehen, um eventuell Zusammenhänge oder Instonations-Grundsätze besser verstehen zu können. Die Daten waren ja relativ schnell abgelesen und in eine Tabelle überführt, der Aufwand also gering. Inzwischen juckt es mich schon ganz schön in den Fingern Ihre Vorschläge einzuarbeiten - ich glaub, bis Weihachten kann ich da nicht mehr warten . . . Gott sei Dank hab ich eine diesbezüglich sehr verständnisvolle Ehefrau . . .
Danke euch für die viele Arbeit! Das ist (vor und nach Weihnachten) wertvolle Information, die man ja offensichtlich auch nicht einfach überall bekommen kann.
