und ganz unabhängig davon wie klug und richtig hier teilweise argumentiert wird
die wenigsten Kaufentscheidungen werden auch nur zu einem größeren Bruchteil rational gefällt

- okay, ich habe bisher noch keines dieser Wunderinstrumente live gehört oder gespielt aber meinem (unmaßgeblichen) Gefühl nach sind weder die Videos noch die im Moment spielbaren Instrumente die gesamte Zeit und Energie "wert" mit denen hier darüber argumentiert und gestritten wird.

Regarding the effectiveness of your analogy of Magritte's The Treachery of Images, the painting is a stylized 2D representation of a 3D object. Digital pipe organ sound is not a 2D presentation of 3D pipe organ sound: both sounds exist in 3 dimensions and to a large extent are indistinguishable to the vast majority of humans. No one would reasonably try to put tobacco on Magritte's very large pipe in the painting and try to smoke it (absurdist comedians excepted). But, churches, other institutions, and people purchase a digital pipe organ because of the closeness of its sound to a physical pipe organ. And, excluding those few who value the older analog/digital pipe organ sound, churches, other organizations, and most people have desired and manufacturers have tried to decrease the acoustic distance between pipe organs and analog/digital organs these past 50 or so years that I'm aware of. You correct in making the categorical distinction between the physical objects of a pipe organ and a digital pipe organ; however, the technology is improving such that you may soon not be correct about the sound generated by both.

Which brings me to the last point quoted from your post...I rarely see arguments and almost always see discussions on this Digitalorgeln sub-forum of the Sakralorgelforum. In English, the sub-forum is Digital Organs--where are we supposed to discuss the current playable instruments (digital organs) and videos of them if not here? Isn't this a discussion forum for digital organs?

The middle item quoted from your post relates to the statement that very few purchase decisions are made even rational to a larger fraction. The understanding of decision theory and practical guidelines to use rational processes in making decisions have grown dramatically in my life time AND, unless one is absolutely set on model X from brand Z, there are strategies and rules of thumb that make decisions (read purchases) much more rational.
